Rugby star Ludo receives England call up

Ludo Kolade (Fifth, Tradescant) has been selected as an England Academy player.

Having taken part in our pre-season tour to South Africa this summer, the Harlequins Youth player received the news in August after he was nominated by Quins Academy coach Mark Mapletoft.

Ludo has described the selection as “a big opportunity”.

He also gives credit to the school’s Head of Rugby Mat Lister, who supports his participation with Quins by driving him to their training sessions once a month.

The club then sends Mapletoft down to Canterbury every month to work with Ludo on a one-to-one basis, as well as offering strength and conditioning advice.

We look forward to seeing Ludo in action for the school in the coming weeks as the Rugby season gets underway!
