St John’s and King’s commit to lasting partnership

Head of St John’s Primary, Jo Williamson, and King’s Headmaster, Peter Roberts, celebrated the ongoing partnership between our two schools at a celebration tea on Thursday afternoon.

Since 2014, pupils from St John’s have consistently been involved in our many initiatives, such as our Canterbury Primary Science Partnership, our Minilympics sports programme and the Sounding Out project.

Our own students have also worked with them at a regular Breakfast Club, Mandarin lessons and Leadership days.

Speaking at the event, Mrs Williamson said: “You’ve done more than you can possibly imagine. You’ve given our children opportunities that they would never have had otherwise, such as using the incredible science labs you have here.

“Even something as simple as eating at a restaurant – eating in the dining room here is something that will stay with the children for a long time.”

The two heads signed an agreement cementing our collaboration for years to come.

We plan to offer classes from St John’s access to our library for reading and creative writing sessions as well as partnering the school with two boarding houses to give further volunteering opportunities to our students.
