Students claim top prizes in UK/China Friendship & Understanding Competition
Wendy Lian (Kingsdown, Remove) won first prize in this year’s UK/China Friendship and Understanding Essay Competition while Annabel Cohen (Walpole, 6b) picked up the multimedia award.
All three King’s entrants were shortlisted in the national competition organised by the Society for Anglo-Chinese Understanding(SACU), with Edric Wong’s (Linacre, Vth) essay also receiving recognition.
Wendy’s essay titled ‘Literature as the bridge over countless cultural gaps’ and Annabel’s photo of ‘Shanghai and Canterbury superimposed’ (displayed above) were announced as winners at an online awards ceremony, earning them each a £100 prize.
Congratulations to Wendy, Annabel and Edric, who were all awarded free membership to SACU for a year.
