Successful Bronze DofE expedition explores the Kent countryside

Our latest batch of Duke of Edinburgh candidates have completed their Bronze Award qualifying expedition organised by CCF Contingent Commander Major Adam Vintner.

Below is a report from the expedition:

Whatever weather form Major V had in his back pocket it would have been nicer if he had shared it with the Sports coaches earlier in the term as the pupils had a perfect 36-hour weather window to complete their Bronze DofE Expeditions. Yet again Covid restrictions kept the groups local and within the vicinity of Canterbury, but it didn’t detract from the experience as groups walked through the Garden of England with packs on their backs. When Major V asked one group how they were getting on, Perle Seul-Riordan (Luxmoore, Remove) replied: “After the year we have had on screens and in the classroom, right now I am living my best life.”
