The King’s Society – Tour of the National Gallery

The King’s Society are visiting the National Gallery and the Rembrandt exhibition on Wednesday 14th January for a private tour with Rose Balston from Art History UK.

Rembrandt’s extraordinary oil paintings reveal a fascinating insight into his life and his everchanging artistic style. Prior to entering the exhibition Rose will give an introduction to Rembrandt and the Renaissance and Baroque artists who influenced him focusing on Titian, Caravaggio and Rubens. The tour then proceeds to look at Rembrandt’s early paintings that illustrate his love of portraiture and dramatic historical narrative and on to the main exhibition itself with further information provided by Rose.

Rose Balston is the founder of Art History UK. As well as guiding extensively, Rose lectures for the V&A, has commentated for Al Jazeera English and has written for the Mail on Sunday, London Calling and The Resident magazine. In 2013 she was nominated Condé Nast Traveller London Art Expert.
