‘They gave me so much energy I struggled to sleep’ – French Senator praises pupils’ maturity & language skills
Senator Olivier Cadic of France, who is responsible for French citizens living abroad, commended the mature questions and foreign language skills shown by students after giving a talk at King’s.
We were honoured to welcome Senator Cadic to talk to pupils entirely in French about his role, after which he fielded questions on Chile, Venezuela, Africa, immigration, secularism and Brexit among other topics.
Following the event, the Senator posted on his Facebook page: “I conversed with about fifty young people aged 15 to 17 in a very prestigious British establishment, in a setting worthy of Harry Potter’s school.
“I was impressed by their level of French and I congratulate the team that teaches them our language.
“The variety of students’ questions showed their great maturity.
“During an hour of refreshing exchanges, these young people gave me such energy that I had a hard time falling asleep afterwards.”
