Thomas and Angus (OKS) explain their challenging summer jobs as fruit pickers

Many university students have been left looking for ways to fill their time this summer. Two opportunistic OKS, Thomas Edgar (Galpin’s, 2019) and Angus Clews (School House, 2019), have turned to fruit picking, taking jobs at Clock House Farm near Maidstone.

There’s been a huge influx in demand for picking jobs from UK residents this year, with swathes of applicants being rejected, but it’s certainly not an easy living. As the boys told Kent Live when interviewed about their experience on the farm, the exhausting nine-hour shifts start at 5:45am.
