Triumph at Invicta Maths Challenge
A team of four Fifth Form King’s students: Jela Guo (HH), Jack Nielson (GL), Abigail Riggs (WL) and Kevin Wu (MO) entered the Invicta Maths Challenge at Invicta Grammar School, Maidstone and were clear winners of a sequence of challenges, winning every challenge they did. This is a competition combining mathematical, communication and teamwork skills and offers students another way to express and develop their enjoyment of Mathematics. The King’s students competed against students from other local secondary schools.
The King’s students were greeted kindly on arrival at Invicta Grammar School and escorted to a classroom in which the competition would take place. The puzzle round was difficult but the King’s team managed to beat the Suguru, thanks to Kevin Wu. The team said during that round that if a team gets the ‘killer’ Sudoku then they deserve to win. Luckily for them, no one beat it and they were clear winners on the day. The students thought the competition was a lot of fun and they are looking forward to the next round.
