Walpole House 80th Anniversary Reunion
The sun shone kindly on the 125 guests who gathered for the Walpole House 80th Anniversary Reunion in the Walpole garden on Sunday 11th October.
Housemistresses and masters from past and present welcomed ‘boys’ and ‘girls’ from the 1940’s to the 2000’s. Esteemed attendees included Rev’d Canon Dr Anthony Phillips and Vicki Phillips, Housemaster Martin Vye (1978-90) (former Lord Mayor of Canterbury), Housemistress Janet Pickering (1990-94) and Dr Ron Pickering (Former House Tutor & King’s School Staff) as well as Dr Jean Watson (1994-2007) and Wyn Watson.
The guests enjoyed a hearty lunch in the main dining hall including scallops, lamb and a waistline expanding chocolate torte as they renewed old friendships and reminisced over photographs and memorabilia provided by Housemistress Amanda Young and School Archivist Peter Henderson.
