Walpole runners raise £1,869 for Cancer Research UK

Boarders from Walpole House enjoyed a trip to Herne Bay for the Race for Life 5km and 10km, raising £1,869 for Cancer Research UK.

All the girls had been fundraising in the weeks leading up to the event, and the full amount will go towards valuable research that benefits patients up and down the country.

The event itself was a fun morning out with some impressive performances from the girls.

Franciska Wagner (6b) achieved a top-10 finish with a PB of 50 minutes in the 10km, while Georgina Richardson (6b) came sixth in the 5km.

Lilia Trigg (6b), Grace Stephens-Spada (6b) and Mrs Young – Housemistress of Walpole – all successfully completed the 5km distance as well, supported by an enthusiastic group of housemates.
