Watch the King’s School Act of Remembrance
The Headmaster, Mrs Roberts and the CCF Colour party held a very moving Act of Remembrance in Memorial Court on Sunday morning.
A full recording and a report by our Head of Corps, Cadet Sergeant Major Edouard de Vitry d’Avaucourt (Meister Omers, 6a), are available below.
On Sunday the 8th of November, despite the numerous restrictions imposed on the world and the school by Covid-19, we were able to carry out a small Remembrance Service.
The privilege is bestowed upon us as senior cadets to provide the Colour Party and it is a day where we feel great pride to be able to honour our servicemen and women who have given their lives for our freedom in various conflicts since the Great War.
Every year the school hosts such a moving service, and whilst it was a shame not to have the beautiful music performed by the choir and orchestra or to be watched by our families and fellow pupils, it also gave the morning a sense of poignancy as the service was simply about remembrance. Lest we forget.
