World-renowned pianist Benjamin Frith gives recital and masterclasses
Internationally acclaimed pianist Benjamin Frith visited us all day on Thursday, performing a recital in the Peter Stone Room and giving individual masterclasses.
Benjamin showed talent from a young age, winning the UK Dudley National Piano Competition at 14 and the Mozart Memorial Prize at 20. The accolades continued as his career progressed and he would go on to share top prize in the 1986 Busoni International Piano Competition and first prize in the 1989 Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Masters Competition.
As well as a mesmerising performance for pupils and staff, he gave eight of our pianists the opportunity to sit down for one-to-one tuition masterclasses.
It was such an inspiration to have a musician of Benjamin’s pedigree at King’s!
