Wreath-laying at the Menin Gate

The annual Shell trip to Ypres took place on Thursday 9 October.

As usual this culminated with the Last Post Ceremony at the Menin Gate. This year, the King’s School was one of the groups to lay wreaths.

Among those commemorated on the Menin Gate are four OKS: Cedric Crowley, Ross Ferguson, Douglas Northcote and Arthur Temple.
Ferguson was the youngest OKS killed in the War. He was seventeen when he died of wounds at the 2nd Battle of Ypres in 1915.

This is one of several events commemorating the Great War Centenary.
