The well-equipped Health Centre is run by a team of fully qualified nursing sisters. It provides continuous 24-hour cover throughout the term.
The nursing staff are supported by three GPs from a Canterbury practice, who hold surgeries each weekday at the Health Centre.
Matrons are attached to each House. They have a pastoral role as well as dealing with routine health care. ‘Twilight’ and ‘Night Matrons’ are available where there is not a residential matron.
Four qualified counsellors, one male and three female, with specialist experience in teenage issues, are available to all pupils through a confidential appointments system. All pupils are made aware of how they can access the counselling facility.
The School has a First Aid Policy, and all students as well as 80 per cent of staff are trained in first aid and basic life support.
