“Alongside those historic buildings you’ll also find fantastic modern facilities and a forward-thinking approach.”
Jude Lowson, Head of King’s
A university for the young
Situated in and around the centre of historic Canterbury, our Senior School has been described as a ‘university for young people’. It is an incredible mix of the old and new, with our most venerable boarding house dating from the 15th Century and our state-of-the-art Science Centre from 2023.
The main buildings, including many of the Day and Boarding Houses and the Library, sit near Green Court and the ruins of St Augustine’s Abbey – both UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
The Malthouse Campus, just a few minutes’ walk away, is home to our theatre and dance and drama studios. While Blackfriars, a converted Dominican priory, is where you’ll find our Art Department. Then there are the King’s Street Studios for Ceramics and Photography, and the St Radigund’s Street building for Design and Technology. Not to mention Birley’s, our private sports fields, and Blore’s, our sports centre.
It’s easy to see how our pupils’ horizons broaden rapidly in such a setting.
Admissions
