Sir Michael Morpurgo, returned to King’s for the evening opening the new Middle School Literary Society, named in his honour.

He met members of the society in Year 10 and 11 before addressing the school on his experiences as a writer. He spoke about finding inspiration for his stories from his memories of his time at King’s.

Pupils and staff were entertained by his wit, warmth and good humour and paused to reflect during a reading from ‘The Kites are Flying’.

Pupils posed for photos with Sir Michael and received signed novels at the end of a truly memorable evening.
