Everyone here in The King’s School community would like to wish their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla a very Happy Coronation Day.

King Charles III has visited Canterbury on several occasions. In 1975, he met with Peter Newell who was then the Headmaster of The King’s School, Canterbury. He also met the Captain of School at the time, Stephen Camburn.

In 1983 he was here in Canterbury for the Cathedral Appeal Trustees Meeting. He then went on to have lunch in the Masters’ Common Room and signed the visitor book.

He then visited in 1997, for the celebration of the 1400th anniversary of the arrival of St Augustine, he had lunch in the Dining Hall and again signed the visitors’ book.
